Hi!
I'm Meredyth

Software developer at Atomic Software, I build educational apps that help teachers teach better and students read stronger. React is my home base, with Angular in the mix when needed. I care deeply about accessibility and clean, reusable code. Take a look around and let's connect!

Recent Projects

App that brings fun programming to youth

Internal app powering youth programming end-to-end — CMS-driven content, scheduling, alerts, favorites, and bookmarks. I owned the roadmap and kept a steady release cadence that clients could count on.

Bringing the world into the classroom

Built a new platform giving teachers real-world content at their fingertips — a flexible CMS, smooth editorial workflows, teacher-curated playlists, and secure classroom sign-in.

Database architecture & CMS integration

Led database design for a five-person team — modeled the entity relationships, implemented via BaaS, and wired in a headless CMS for real-time content updates that editors could manage without touching code.

Building a company-wide accessibility culture

Spearheaded an internal initiative to make accessibility a first-class priority — writing policy, creating documentation, and rolling out a training program so every contributor ships with inclusion in mind.

Games that teach kids to read

Helped build a suite of interactive games for early readers — covering letter recognition, pronunciation, sounding out, and writing, all wrapped in an experience young learners actually enjoy.

App that teaches kids to write

Partnered with a renowned academic researcher and a pediatric OT to build an app for young writers — covering letter formation, pencil grip, and spacing through playful, guided practice.

Other Things

When I'm not writing code, I'm usually doing something with my hands or my community. I teach baking classes, run a hiking club I started from scratch, and have been known to build things - a pantry shelf here, a screen door there. I've taken up trail running and trained for a half marathon (with more on the horizon). My yard is an ongoing project to attract every bird and chipmunk in the neighborhood. And on days off, you'll likely find me dragging friends to try something new around the city.

A lot of what I do outside of work involves making something - baking, embroidery, the occasional woodworking project. I like starting with raw materials and ending up with something that didn't exist before. It turns out that's also why I like writing code.
